The Fourtrees Empty
PostSubject: The Fourtrees   The Fourtrees EmptyWed Sep 05, 2012 6:39 pm

A large hill gently slopes, leading to four trees, with a large granite rock in the middle. During the full moon, all four Clans meet here to meet those from other clans. Leaders jump on top of the rock to address the members of each Clan, informing them of the recent happenings in their territory. A truce between the Four Clans lasts until dawn breaks, but sometimes tensions get out of hand.

The dark wolf silently stalked through the forest, they had just barely managed to beat the other pack to the forest, corssing over the border she hardly smelled as fear for her pack's survial drove her on. Once she felt they were deep enough into the forest the female stopped, one by one she approached and looked over each wolf, stopping extra long when she reached Misty she had adopted the stray pup as her own and although she had become a Topaz she still worried about her. After she had comfirmed they were alright she continued onward, never speaking prefering to let her eyes do the talking, they were in yet another pack's territory and they had to be careful. Normally Rayen would have sat outside their borders and howled asking for permission to enter and speak with the pack's leader.

But they had not had such a luxery and as they moved following the strongest scents Rayen found herslef hoping this pack would not view her and the other as intruders ora a raiding party and attack. her sides still heaved from the full out run she had done previously and she doubted the others had caught their breath either. They were in a sorry state to fight that was for sure.

As they crested a rise Rayen against found herself halting in her tracks as she gazed in wonder at the large gathering of wolves bellow. Four trees towered high above the clearing surrounded by a small creek that babbled and chirped as it slid over rocks. The sound of voices reached Rayen's ears from even this distance creating a mass of jarbled words that one could not distingquish unless they wanted to risk getting closer. The land around the trees was bear offering no cover for her pack as they approached, they would be at the mercy of this other large pack. Casting a glance back over her pack her eyes softened before hardening again as determination set over, confidantly she lead her pack out of the shelter of the brush and down toward the four trees.

Akindo halted at the top of the hill, her muzzle curling up a little when she saw the large pack below. "I could never take on all of these wolves." She thought, hoping her leader had something better in mind than to drive the wolves out of their territory. It was usually unheard of for another pack to willingly invite a pack into their territory as it was.

Rayen noted Akindo's unease, it mirrored her own but years of training allowed her to hide such feelings and appear unfazed and calm. Her body language told all she was the leader of this pack but there was no hostility suggesting that they intended to attack or drive them out. it would be insane to take on so many wolves with so few, she was also aware that packs rarely welcomed another even one so small into their territory and that was why she stopped a few meters away from the babbling water that surrounded the four giant trees and their clearing where the wolves were gathered.

We one of the wolves broke off from the group to great them Rayen's keen eyes quickly sized her up, noting how her body language was friendly but not that of a leader meaning she was merely a member of the pack who had decided to take the initiative and greet these new comers. In return toward the kind greeting Rayen nodded allowing a smile to brighten her pretty face. "Greetings, “She said,” We apologize for entering your territory, we had did not know this land belonged to a pack until we were driven here, might I speak with your leader? I have some news he or she might like to here before we are driven out."

She did not ask to stay, she would not hope for such a thing, but before if she were to warn this large pack of the wolves beyond their borders perhaps they would permit them to pass through unharmed. With so many wolves against her few she doubted the leader would see them as much of a threat, perhaps even humor her before chasing them away. The idea that a wolf would possibly look down upon and make fun of her pack certainly would have brought a snarl to her throat had she not had such control over her emotions her mind was reasonably and realistic, she had yet to meet this leader if he/she would even allow her to come within his/her presence. How was she supposed to know whether this wolf would mock her family, or take compassion on them and help? She hated asking for help, but she was not to stupid or proud not to acknowledge that they were in a dire situation and their strength alone might not be enough to get them through.

Akindo watched the new wolf with great interest, trying to comprehend why it was so willing to greet a pack of strangers that had invaded it's territory. After all, usually when a pack of wolves were found on your turf, they were rivals in competing for one's land. These wolves must have been so strong and so well prepared that they didn't need to worry about a pack of invaders, no matter how deeply within their territory. This sent a tiny bit of suspicion creeping through Akindo's bloodstream, because that meant that if anything even did come to a fight, the Dancing Stones Pack stood as no match against a pack too prideful to even consider them a threat.

She kept her steely eyes on the she wolf, taking in her every movement with some considerable thought. The wolves below hadn't paid attention so far even though Akindo was pretty sure the DSP's scent petrified the air. Yet this brave she wolf had pranced up to them willingly, energetic and gleeful with not even a hint of suspicion swirling in her eyes.

"They must be even stronger than I thought." Akindo thought silently to herself, wanting to bristle at the thought but realizing the only chance they had was to be submissive and polite. Considering that this she wolf wasn't a dominant in any way, only would have made Akindo look like a fool weakling if she submitted to her. But considering that Rayen had asked the wolf a favour-a favour that could in fact turn against them if the leader was not pleased at their arrival, since the wolf could give their already obvious cover away. But considering that Rayen had placed their lives in this wolf's paws, Akindo felt the need to prove herself as not a threat even though she almost yearned to be one rather than appear as a weakling. She shut off her natural instincts and instead lowered her tail to the stranger, her ears sinking back to the scalp of her head and she lowered her head gravely, hoping the new wolf got the message.

Heatherpaw shivered as an icy ripple traveled down her spine. There was a new and indistinct scent that seemed to hover around the clearing. Not RiverClan, nor ShadowClan, ThunderClan, or even her own clan, WindClan, but a new scent. The scent of a different pack altogether. She jumped, her fur bristled, as Snowflower padded away, and she forced her fur to lie flat again. her eyes remained pin-pointed on Snowflower as she traveled away from the Gathering and up the hill. What does she think she is doing? She thought in bewilderment, only to find out a moment later. Her eyes stretched wide and she froze, as if rooted into the ground. Before them stood another pack, assumably the owners of that scent, and Snowflower had just walked up to them as if greeting an old friend! Her ears were as high up on her head as physically possible in an attempt to ear what they were saying, but she only caught a faint murmur that seemed to get carried to her by the wind. The pack was small, and if there was a battle, it wouldn't take long to drive them all out. But surely they know that? They wouldn't be THAT stupid or proud...would they? Her claws sliding out, she cast a glance up to the leaders on Tallrock, wondering if they had yet spotted the intruders.

"Whats wrong?"she giggled..

(I'm Heatherpaw on here ;) )
Heatherpaw looked, still bewildered, at Snowflower. "Them!" The apprentice spat before composing herself a little and taking a deep breath. "I apologise, but what do they want?" Her gaze flashed back up to the hill side, and her eyes narrowed in thought and suspicion. By the way they stood, Heatherpaw could see that they were exhausted and bedraggled. In no state to fight or defend themselves with any great strength if her leaders decided to attack, though she admired the way that their leader seemed to stand with confidence and pride in her posture, as if already ignoring or deifying any unspoken threats or accusations.

She looked back at Snowflower, curiosity burning in her eyes more than hostility, and she let her head tip to the side a little in a questioning gesture.

Rayen felt Akindo bristle beside her, and for a moment she was worried the female would act hostile toward the wolf, but she soon got a hold of herself much to the female's pleasure. She was proud of how the newly named Diamond had handled herself; she was certainly an invaluable member to the pack. She remained quite as she observed everything around her, watching the wolves; she picked out one a small wolf around the age of Misty staring at them with hostility. She returned the stare with an even one a brow raising slightly, before focusing on the female who had come up to them as she spoke once more before walking away.

Her head cocked ever so slightly as she watched her approach a tall rock with four separate wolves sitting atop it, she had already picked these wolves out as authority figures which had caused her to ponder as to what type of pack structure she was faced with. Certainly by the way they acted around one another, respectful but not to warmly these wolves were the head honchos but they were not happy about being so close together. She could not smell the different scents of the clans for the wind was to the Dancing Stone's back carrying their smell to them. No doubted the whole entire pack would soon be made aware of their presence. She shared the same thoughts as Akindo on the matter of easily this female had approached them, if she had known that they were all of different packs she might have understood such a reaction, but as far as rayen knew they were all one large pack.

She watched as the wolf returned to talk to the young one that had reacted with such hostility toward them, showing Rayen that not all were as friendly and at ease as the one that had greeted them this gave her a conflicting signal as to the state of the pack, either they were confident and unconcerned with DSP, or they were hostile and would drive them away. Suddenly that very wolf who had acted hostile now looked upon them with curiosity, causing the dark wolf's head to cock a small centimeter in the other direction. Surely they were not so proud as to merely treat them as a passing curiosity, they were tired and looked tired although she held herself in a proud manner that air of danger constantly present around her she was weary, the run had taken much out of her and her pack.

Wolves were built for endurance, but they had spent much of their energy on speed not distance in an attempt to escape the other pack, being a relatively good judge of character Rayen felt that that other pack was not one they wanted to come into contact with. This one before her on the other hand made her feel different, she was concerned yes, they were strong, much stronger then DSP, but something about them was different then a normal pack, the way many chose to sit within group rather then mingle amongst themselves was rather odd for a pack- a family that survived by being close knit.

Shadestar growled at the general direction of the wolves as Snowflower approached the Tallrock. "This is absurd." he snarled. "Other packs don't just 'talk to leaders'." Nevertheless, he jumped from the rock and stalked over to them. "Stay away from us. We may have a truce tonight, but it's not for..... outsiders, rogues, loners, whoever you are. You don't belong here. Leave before we chase you off ourselves" His golden eyes glared daggers at the wolf he thought to be the leader.

In all his time, he never knew a pack stupid enough to pass territory lines without even noticing their existence. From some of their expressions, they were obviously noticing the large number of wolves dotted on the landscape. It might seem like some kind of superpack. Shadestar was careful to say the right thing and to guard his Clan. He didn't care about the others, but otherwise...

Rayen watched the angry reaction of the black male, she remained calm as he stalked forward his snarls filling the air around her. Instead of returning the hostile glare with an equally malicious one her gaze was calm but matched the male's intensity and prowes. Her brow raised ever so slightly at the mentiono of a truce and how it did not apply to outsiders. So this was some sort of gathering of the powers in this area, she mused.

She held herself tall, her large size adding an advantage to this as confidence and calm came off her in waves, she was the leader of DSP and she would not back down, and so she spoke her voice was quiet and yet it commanded attention. "We have no intention of staying within your borders, or anywhere near your family. We, the Dancing Stones Pack were forced into your territory, or be killed by the large pack of wolves that has congrigated beyong your borders. Normally i would gladly mind my own business and lead my pack else where but I thought it rather cowardness to leave a pack to face unknown danger when I could do something to even the odds."

Cocking her head, raising a brow she went one, the moonlight reflecting off her magma colored eyes. "or would you have prefered it if we allowed the other pack to go unknowticed until it was within your territory biting at your heels?" yes she was being rather bold and blunt, a move that could get her pack attacked. but this male did not strike her as a wolf who was patient enough to listen to flowery words, of course that did not mean he'd appreciate her bluntness either way. But with his pack still a good few paces from her own they would have enough time to attack him if he were to suddenly lung at her, something she really wished he would not do for it would put a damper on her planes.

Graystar tilted her head as the wind blew scent of other wolves to her; they didn't smell like any Clan she knew. Why would a loner step onto Clan territory? She thought to herself, though stayed where she was. As a few wolves had walked over to the Fourtrees, Graystar realized that it must have been a pack that she had scented. Her golden eyes watched the new pack, trying to see whether they were hostile or friendly. It appeared the other pack didn't mean any harm; but the RiverClan leader still was cautious.

She glanced down from the GreatRock as Snowflower had come over, saying that the leader of the other pack had wanted to speak to a Clan leader. Graystar watched as Shadestar had walked over to the other pack, trying to listen to what the ShadowClan leader had said.

The RiverClan leader made her way down from the large rock, trotting over to where Shadestar and the other pack were standing. She had arrived soon enough to hear one of the wolves mention something about a large pack. The same wolf had then said if the Clans would rather have let the large pack into their territory without knowing anything about it.

Waiting a few moments, the gray-blue leader barked; "Hello, I am Graystar, leader of RiverClan." She paused once more, wondering if this pack would know what a Clan even was, or if she would only be confusing them. "I think you may have mentioned something about a large pack of wolves?" Though she was more calm than Shadestar had been, Graystar still spoke with a bit of caution, not quite trusting these new wolves. Her ears were perked forward, and she held her tail high, like any leader would have.

The male snorted at the female leader's response. "We can take care of ourselves, thank you." he said. "You don't need to help us "even the odds." Yes, he had heard of this pack this stranger was mentioning, they were mooching off the Clans land. Only minutes before the leaders had been discussing these going-ons and how to deal with them. If they moved on to another pack, that was okay with him. He did not show that he recognized them though and kept it to himself, nudging Graystar slightly as she approached as well. How did he know these wolves were not the ones taking the prey, tricking him into thinking they just needed help so they could invade? At the thought his eyes narrowed. "We don't have time for pleasantries. Continue on your way."

Another wolf apporached, the female also showing sizes of domminance. She intruduced herself as Graystar lead of Riverlcan, this caused Rayen's ears to twitch so they were not a full pack but split bodies. She knew the term for clan and since these wolves both had entirely different scents she confirmed her earlier suspiscious that they were infact seperate bodies. This instantly concerned her, if they were not a united forces then the other pack would most likely attack one destroying it and weakening the others as a whole. Even if they united she did not feel they'd have a chance with even one pack lost. She dipped her head respectfully toward Graystar, as a leader would to acknowledge another, she was still cautious but at least she had come into the situation clamly and for that she appreciated it.

"Greetings graystar, I am Rayen lead of the Dancing Stones pack." She intruduced herself before going on, " yes, there is another pack we were driven her when they spotted us after stealing our kill." She could not help but but allow a snarl of discgusted and aner to enter her throat as she discribed the scene, she hated to see her pack, her fmaily driven away like a miss behaving pup; helpless to do anything about it. her head cocked as the male spoke once more as he once again reacted hostile toward her small band of wolves, she noted the suspicious in his eyes and nodded, she would be suscpsious as well if a strange group of wolves suddenly entered her territory spouting of nonses about aa large enemyt pack.

Her eyes met the male's, "We had no intention of staying her, but it is rather rude to go galivating through another wolf's terrritory without first asking safe passage. Normally I would have liked to remain outside your border and howl to alert you of our presence, but circumstances wouldn't allow it. " She gestured toward the mountains and toward what she did not know was Windclan territory, "We will be on our way, we were cut off from our territory in the mountains, if you'll permit we would like to shorten our route by cutting through."

She left it at that, if they wished to allow this, or if that part of the land was under a different rule she hoped they'd direct her toward the wolf you saw over it, after all she wasn't asking to cut through their territory if it so happened to be another's, why worry about it?

Graystar twitched her ears as Shadestar had slightly prodded her, wondering as well if this pack might have had something to do with the one that was feeding off of Clan territory. By the way these wolves looked, however, Graystar didn't think they'd be able to hunt very well; let alone had been eating much.

The Clan leader nodded as Rayen introduced herself and the name of her pack, and had then continued on, saying her pack was driven onto Clan territory by the larger pack. This further led Graystar to believe this was a different pack; although she didn't mention anything.

As Rayen had asked if her pack could continue through Clan territory, Graystar looked at Shadestar. "What do you think?" She said quietly to the fellow Clan leader, though assumed he probably wouldn't allow this other pack to cut through their territory.

Akindo lifted her head at Shade Star's threat. He had no right to talk to Rayen like that. If they laid one paw on her Akindo was ready to snap her powerful jaws down on any of their paws. Fortinately most of the wolves were friendly but skeptical. Akindo recoiled at all the smells that had gathered in the clearing, reeking of tension and unfimiliar aromas. Graystar smelt like fish and calm and quiet reeds. Shadestar reeked of pine and energy all bundled into one. Perhaps it was the smell that was more terrifying than the wolf himself, one on one Akindo was sure she could take him on. But by being female she had a greater disadvantage. It didn't matter, they couldn't fight here.

"Mark my words Shadestar." Akindo spoke aloud, careful not to cross any unessessary lines. "If you drive us out you will realize that when this other pack comes, you have been wrong. Maybe you should give us a chance first. As for the other pack, from what I've seen they are a pretty big threat. There are more of them than us. We're not yet sure how many but I'd be wary if I were you. They drove us out of our territory and I'm sure they'd be happy to drive you out of yours."

Heatherpaw was hardly aware of Snowflower talking to her, as all of her attention was pinned on the Clan leaders exchanging words with the strange pack. Her ears were high up in the air and she was straining to hear what was being said. Curiosity raked like a claw at her head, and she let her eyes flicker over to Snowflower for a quick second before turning them back to the pack. Still keeping her eyes on the Leaders, she opened her mouth to reply to Snowflower, but her thoughts trailed off at the mixture of hostility and calmness that seemed to be coming from the Leaders. "Uh..." was all the apprentice managed to say before she gave a vigerous shake to her head to clear her thoughts.

Rayen was not surprised when Akindo spoke, she ha wondered how long she would remain silent, and although she was a relatively new diamond she loved and protected the pack fiercely. Her words were blunt mirror Rayen's thoughts exactly, she trusted Akindo not to let her tongue go before her mind she would think before speaking and so she did not rein her in as much as she would of a wolf who regularly spouted of hostile nonsense without taken a moment to think about their actions.

Nodding to confirm her agreement with the Diamond Rayen met each leader's gaze, her magma pools settling on the new arrival giving her a respectful nod as she had done for Graystar and Shadestar. She had yet to speak, taking up a role of the silent observer Rayen often preferred. When she made her discussion Rayen trusted she would speak up, and she hoped that at least she and Graystar might see the sense in Akindo and her own words, Shadestar on the other hand seemed less accommodating. Although frustrating she did not hold such actions against him, he was the leader responsible for the lives of his pack, his family. He desired nothing but to protect and preserve his pack, bringing them the best that he could offer, and for that she respected him.

Rainstar sat down, her tail curled neatly. She had never been very open to new wolves and usually only trusted the word of her own clan. Yet she could be friendly. She nodded respectfully to the other two and watched. She spoke carefully, her voice smooth and pleasing, "I do not see much wrong in allowing them to pass, if this other pack as she says, " She looks at Akindo, "Were to lets say decide to try to drive us out, which would be difficult and impossible." She whispered this last part. She paused and gathered her thoughts, "Basically I see nothing wrong with them passing, but of course they wouldn't have every liberty like the clan wolves do." she looked at Shadestar and Graystar. She did not really care if they agreed or not. She had spoken her mind, and that for her was enough. The black female took a step back and sat down. Yet again going silent.

At least someone was sensible, Akindo thought bitterly to herself. But what did she care for the "liberties" this pack had to hide for themselves? Akindo did not care to gain anything here, only to get out of here as fast as wolfly possible. If they did not let them they had no choice but to fight-either these clan wolves or the wolves that had driven them out. Either way they were outnumbered, either way they were desperate for help of some sort or at the very LEAST to just be given permission to quickly run through a territory and be out of it by dawn.

Akindo was about to object some more, wanting to thrust out a retort that went saying something like if they truly were invading territory they would never have been so stupid to come with such small numbers, but then a dangerous smell wafted across her muzzle and she whipped around just as a dark shadow in the trees slithered away.

"A spy!" Akindo snarled, reeling around but the creature was already running away. Oh how she longed to chase after it but she had a tingling feeling that there were more not far off and if she chased it now she would be led right into their claws.

Instead she whirled around back to Shadestar. "Did you see that? Do you smell it?!" She hissed. "They are already here! If you were wise you'd let us through right now. You can clearly see they are not us! Smell it for yourself!"
